The 3-piece military pallet net is the historical modular restraint system for 463L pallets, still in service with armed forces and tactical air transport operators. A complete kit combines one TOP net (HCU-15/C, P/N GP AR2015-01) and two SIDE nets (HCU-7/C, P/N GP AR2010-01).
The design of the nets is based on the MIL-N-27444D requirements, but has been adapted for the webbing material, using more modern polyester webbings rather than nylon.
Construction uses polyester flat webbing approved under FAR 25.853. The SIDE net covers 65.5x195.5" and weighs 14.6 kg in standard army green. The TOP net covers 166x185" and weighs 16.7 kg in standard sand yellow. Maximum gross weight is 10 000 lb (4 550 kg).
Restraint is provided by tie down hooks (with rings on the SIDE net) and cam buckles for tensioning. Each net is supplied with a manufacturer label.
Other colors are available on demand to match operational camouflage requirements or service codes. For new procurement programs, the GPI Forankra 1B6N 1-piece net offers equivalent restraint capacity with simpler handling.
