This helicopter lashing strap is used to secure helicopters and heavy equipment during transport and storage, on the ground and aboard naval carriers. It is built to ISO 16049-1 for military air transport applications.
Construction uses 50 mm polyester webbing, with a 10 000 lb / 4 536 kg ultimate load and a fixed 4 m total length. Tensioning relies on an over-center buckle, which gives fast, repeatable tension setting without the travel of a ratchet, an advantage in confined deck and hangar environments. Flat hooks are fitted on both ends to connect to anchor points without damaging the airframe.
